Robin in the woods at Bolton Abbey (2)

Another Robin - I could photograph Robin's endlessly!

Blue Tits and a Great Tit at Bolton Abbey

2 more photos from the woods at Bolton Abbey - a tiny blue tit and a blue tit and a great tit together. These were taken outside the bird watching shelter up in the woods.

Camera/lens settings: ISO 200, f/5.3, 1/160s, 240mm, hand held.

Camera/lens settings: ISO 100, f/5, 1/500s, 165mm, hand held.

Robin in the woods at Bolton Abbey

This is a viewpoint high above the river Wharfe, close to the Strid, at Bolton Abbey. There's a bench just next to it, but I prefer to sit on the ground further back to watch the birds that hop around the area picking up seeds.

Abstract view of Midtown Manhattan architecture

I have no idea what this structure is - we were walking across Midtown Manhattan towards Queensboro Bridge and stopped to apply suncream in its shade! There are benches beneath it and it is right in front of an office block. The tall thin tower that you can see in the circle is 432 Park Avenue (which you can pretty much see from anywhere in Manhattan!).

Camera/lens settings: ISO 100, f/11, 1/500s, 10mm, hand held.

Sunlight catching midtown Manhattan buildings.

I took this one looking straight down from the 'Top of the Rock'. It was early morning and very quiet up there, so I had plenty of opportunities to try out different views and angles. I really like how the sunlight is just catching sections of the buildings and roads on this one.

Camera/lens settings: ISO 100, f/8, 1/320s, 55mm, hand held.

432 Park Avenue shrouded in cloud

I'm going to post a few photos from our holiday to New York last summer. This first one's in Midtown Manhattan. It had been raining hard for a while and when the rain stopped a few low clouds were left hanging around - this one was partly shrouding the residential tower of 432 Park Avenue.
