This is another one of the photos I recently took for a friend, of her gorgeous horse, Remo. At this point he was charging around me so that I could get a few action photos - I had to keep reminding myself to lower the camera and get out of his way when he was getting close!
Camera/lens settings: ISO 100, f/4.5, 1/500s, 70mm, hand held.
I select my favourite images from my walks and travels (photographed with my Nikon D3200) and post them here. I also add any notes of interest about the making of each image (either at the time or afterwards on the computer). I hope you enjoy looking at my photos and would love to see your comments. If you like a photo, please also share it via your social media using the buttons below each picture...thank you!

Horse portrait
This is one of a few photos I took recently of a friend's horse - the first time I've done a horse/owner photo shoot and I really enjoyed it.
Camera/lens settings: ISO 100, f.5.6, 1/160s, 85mm, hand held.

Silhouetted horses grazing on a Malham hilltop.
Yesterday we visited Malham again for my son to take part in a fell race. After the race we parked up beside the Tarn and had a picnic and a wander round. The kids and dogs paddled in the water and I played with my camera - it was a lovely afternoon! I took this one on the way back to the car when I noticed the patch of sunlight silhouetting the horses.
Camera/lens settings: ISO 100, f/10, 1/400s, 35mm, hand held.

Horse looking over wall
I took this one a few years ago on a walk on the hills around Todmorden, West Yorkshire (where I grew up). This horse always came over to say hello and see if you had anything for it to eat - it would follow you along the wall until it reached the end of its field.
I used a Panasonic compact camera, so didn't have a raw file to work with, hence the sky's still a bit burned out in the background (after reducing exposure and increasing shadows). I think the hazy effect just adds to the atmosphere of the photo though.
