This is the edge of the pond on the opposite side of the river to Gibson Mill at Hardcastle Crags. This loop would have once held the handle for the sluice gate to let water out across the weir to the lower pond. I like the complementary mix of shapes, textures and colours in the picture, taken in November 2013.
Camera/lens settings: ISO 100, f/10, 1/8s, 24mm, hand held.
