This is another shot of the sunset on a cold March evening this year (see my previous blog post on 20th March).
Camera/lens settings: ISO 100, f/11, 1/6s, 35mm, tripod & cable release.
I select my favourite images from my walks and travels (photographed with my Nikon D3200) and post them here. I also add any notes of interest about the making of each image (either at the time or afterwards on the computer). I hope you enjoy looking at my photos and would love to see your comments. If you like a photo, please also share it via your social media using the buttons below each picture...thank you!

Sheep crossing a fallen-down dry stone wall.
This is on the approach to Stoodley Pike from the Mytholmroyd direction - I took the photo in July this year. The sheep were in the process of crossing the wall when they heard us approach and froze as they turned to look at us - perfect posing for a photo!

The Walsden valley viewed from above Gauxholme.
I took this one this afternoon on the way back from a walk with the kids. We set off on the zig-zagging path up the green hill on the right (The Naze), then crossed the (very boggy!) moor beyond, taking a circular route via Gorple Clough.

Coal Clough wind farm viewed from Hoof Stones Height.
Here is an alternative view from Hoof Stones to that posted on 25th Feb. I took the photo on that day on a walk around the moors above Todmorden. Coal Clough is one of the oldest onshore wind farms in England, commissioned in 1992. There are 24 turbines, producing enough energy to serve the average needs of 5,500 homes. (all according to Wikipedia!)

Sunset over Bridestones rocks above Todmorden.
I took this one earlier this evening. My husband and sons were climbing the rocks whilst I wandered around with my tripod looking for a good perch for a sunset shot. It was a lovely evening, although my hands were totally numb by the time we left.

Sunset over the Lancashire moors
This one's from July this year, when my son and I went for a late evening walk on the moor behind Blackstone Edge reservoir. I used a high ISO to avoid too long an exposure (as it was really windy) so had to use a lot of noise reduction in Lightroom. As I've found before, though, the smoothed out effect of the noise reduction really works with the texture of the long grass.
Camera/lens settings: ISO 800, f/18, 1/125s, 18mm, tripod.

Tractor and log pile with a wind farm in the distance
I took this from the road next to a farm at Wainstalls, not far from where I live, a couple of months ago. The wind farm is at Ogden, a few miles away over the moors.

Ogden wind farm
Today I went for a walk starting and ending at a local reservoir, Ogden Water, and crossing the moor below the wind farm on the way. This was my favourite kind of walk - I didn't really know where I was going, although I'd studied the map the night before, so just headed in the direction that intrigued me the most and found the right paths to get me back to my start point.
